Hotel Son Caliu

This year, me and my wife traveled to Spain (Mallorca more precisely) on August. We really enjoyed our stay, having very good weather, and we both felt that if the weather had been bad, we would still have had a pleasant stay. Why? Because Son Caliu hotel is perfect also if you just want to relax.

The hotel, surrounded by mature subtropical gardens in a quiet residential area just 10 minutes outside Palma, is located in a bay with direct access to a small private beach and only 700 meters from the popular beach of Palmanova.

The spa and gardens are very nice and the staff of the hotel very helpful and friendly (from the reception staff, to the waiters in the restaurant and, finally, to the bar and pool staff). The private beach is small but the main beaches of Palmanova are no more than a five minute walk. Breakfast on the terrace each morning overlooking the bay was great. In the evening, we didn't eat in the restaurant but there are plenty of good restaurants in that area.

We had a standard double room which, compared with other hotels we have stayed in, was very good. The rooms are in need of refurbishing because they are a little outdated. Our room was clean and comfortable which was all we needed having in mind that we spent most of the time on the beach, at the pool or visiting the beautiful island of Mallorca.
