Something great to listen to: Cesaria Evora
Cesaria Evora (born 27 August 1941 in Cape Verde) is, in my opinion, one of the most distinguished singers of world music around. With her amazing voice and rhythms, makes you feel as you were on one of those magnificent beaches of Cape Verde.These days, I bought this audio CD signed by Evora: The Very Best of Cesaria Evora. This “best of” album, released in September 2002, represents simply a terrific introduction to a woman who not only masters each style she sings, but obviously loves every moment of it, and her enthusiasm for what she is singing is contagious. With songs like Angola, Carnaval De Sao Vicente or Bondade E Maldade, this compilation it’s a worthy buy and I recommend it as a wonderful way of getting to know great singing.
